In 2016 at ICAST in Orlando Wilderness Systems presented their new kayak model named Radar. With technology advancement and kayak fishing industry boom it’s simply amazing how fast these fishing kayaks evolve. From simple sit on top kayaks we have serious fishing platforms today, real battleships to say at least. It’s amazing just to track this development, not to mention how great would be to try them all.

Radar from Wilderness Systems is just that, the latest technology product, incorporating first three-powered kayak with pedal, paddle and motor propulsion.

Wilderness Systems motor system Helix Motor Drive is already known and can also be inserted into A.T.A.K and biggest Tarpon  kayak model. Helix Motor Drive comes with solar rechargeable lithium batteries, and the range of 20 miles and speed up to 6 mph. It is equipped with an intelligent remote throttle that displays GPS calculated speed, remaining range and battery runtime.

Helix Pedal Drive is innovation, available from this year only for Radar kayaks. It has 6:1 gear ration tuned into 2-bladed fixed pitch propeller. System is optimized for maximum speed in exchange for less effort, giving you an option of hands free fishing. Have to mention that both motor and pedal system is bought separate.

Kayak comes in 2 versions, Radar 115 and Radar 135. They both feature S.M.A.R.T hull technology that combines Stability, Maneuverability, Acceleration, Responsiveness and Tracking for ultimate performance in multiple water environments. Captain’s quarters are equipped with great AirPro MAX SEAT that offers a lot of personal adjustmenent and provides comfort for long rides, flat platform for standing and the SlideTrax gear rails along the side of the kayak for easy rigging without drilling.

With its innovative design and all available propulsion systems this kayak can take your fishing trips to a completely new level and has so much to offer.

After falling in love in fishing as a young boy I never looked back. I am grateful to my grandfather for embedding the love and passion for fishing and nature into my life and for all the hours and patience spent fishing with me. The older I get the more I realize how valuable gift that was. Thank You!! My passion for fishing, sports, movement, nature and people led me to become a fitness trainer and to dive deeper into science of human movement, nutrition and health. After getting a long lusted fishing kayak which I was dreaming about for years a whole new world and horizons opened. With a kayak my fishing got a new meaning and is getting to a new higher level. Kayak fishing perfectly conjoined my passion for fishing, movement and exploring, making my bonds with nature and appreciating life beauty to become even more intense. I am looking forward to this journey, and as a father of two I hope I will transfer at least a piece of my love for fishing and nature preservation to them.
